Praise is Powerful in a Marriage

You are the most beautiful woman I've ever seen. 

I am a lucky man to have you for my wife.

I love you terribly. 

I love watching you sleep.

Your hair is amazing.

These are a few of the compliments that my late husband consistently said to me for the 12 years of our marriage. 

At the beginning of our relationship, I found myself doubting his words because the praise was over-the-top! Over time, I realized that Bill was consistent with his compliments and praise. I decided to trust him and believe his compliments were sincere. 

I decided to begin praising him in the same manner that he did.  

Our marriage flourished!  The "honeymoon phase" of our marriage did not fade away. I discovered that praise and compliments build you both up!

Do not let negative thoughts about your spouse live in your head. 

The minute you catch yourself thinking negatively, replace it with a positive thought. 

Make a commitment to keep your marriage strong.
